Adams was found guilty of 16 counts of cruelty to animal charges and ordered to pay $3100 in fines, plus court costs.  Adams plans to appeal the decision.

Coal Township charged Adams with 2 counts of cruelty to animals after a shepherd-type dog was found in a trash can at the rear of his home.  The iguana was found dead inside the home after the police received a tip about a foul odor at Adams' residence.  3 cats and well as numerous fish in a tank were found in the home but all were in relatively good health.

This was the 3rd time in 2 months that Adams was charged with animal cruelty.

On 5/8/07 police discovered numerous dead animals, rats, mice, rabbits, lizards and fish at Adam's Rainbow Pets Discount Emporium.  Investigators found mice feeding on the dead animals inside the store.  In all 62 dead animals were found in the pet store.  Many other animals, including large snakes were found alive.  Andrews was charged with 13 counts of animal cruelty.

In March, Adams was charged with animal cruelty for keeping dogs and rabbits in a small area at the store without food or water.  Police said the dogs were biting the rabbits.

Update 8/28/07:

Adams, age 28 of Coal Township was committed to Northumberland County Prison in Sunbury, PA by Magisterial District Judge John Gembic III after he failed to pay fines and costs totaling more than $400 for numerous summary offenses filed against him by Shamokin police.  After posting bail Adams was released from prison on 8/30/07.
