~ from Joan - The guy who let the puppy die in this story is lying big time. He probably got money from welfare or unemployment benefits along with food stamps. He kept one dog alive but let the other one starve. He could have bought a cheap bag of dog food or fed it human food he got for himself from a food pantry. I hope they let him rot in jail. I can't imagine anything worse than starving to death from day to day and being a helpless animal who has nowhere to turn.
